Save a loved one's life story, in their own words
MyLifeBook.us is a simple online book for the stories, photos and memories of the people you love: a mother or father, a grandparent, a spouse, a veteran or a dear friend. Once it is saved, the whole family can read it, add to it and keep it for the grandchildren.
Who it is for
It is made for seniors and their families. You don't need any computer skills: if you can send an email, you can make a LifeBook. Many families do it together, with a son, daughter or grandchild helping at the keyboard while Mom or Dad tells the stories.
How it works
- Start your LifeBook. Make an account with your email address.
- Add photos. The first photo becomes the main picture. Add more any time.
- Tell the stories. Childhood, school, military service, work, marriage, family trips, funny moments and life lessons. A guided interview can ask the questions for you.
- Invite family and friends. They can send their own memories and leave messages in the guestbook.
- Approve what is kept. Nothing others send appears until you say yes.

Questions families ask
How do I record Grandma's or Grandpa's stories?
Create a LifeBook for them, then sit together and use the guided interview. It asks one question at a time, starting with "What is your earliest childhood memory?", and follows up on the answers. You can also type stories in yourself.
Can family members add their own memories?
Yes. Share the LifeBook link with family and friends. They can send stories, memories and guestbook messages.
Who decides what appears in the LifeBook?
You do. Memories sent in by others wait in your Pending Memories list until you approve them. Anything you don't want is simply deleted.
Can I add more photos or change things later?
Yes. You can add photos, edit stories and update information at any time, and you can create more than one LifeBook.
Can it help when a loved one passes away?
Yes. Using the approved memories and biography, MyLifeBook.us can write a draft obituary for you to review and edit, and visitors can leave messages of condolence in the guestbook.
How much does it cost?
You can try it free for 14 days. After that there are monthly, yearly and one-time plans; see the pricing page for details.
